CrossRail Link
The TotalSIgnals package was used to design and install a signal scheme for construction of the innercity section of the CrossRail Link in London. Within the busy streets of Southwark, South London, our design team came up with an efficient innovative design to enable contractors HGV’s to enter a site near Borough Market SE1.
Using the package our client was able to see the benefits of cost savings, as we installed the signals on time and within 1 week of the design being approved. The project was completed within the budget allocated.
Pedestrian Improvements
TotalSignals package has recently been used to improve the method of control of a traffic signal junction
With a full TR2500 design, Linsig model and IC4 configuration and factory test. Our team then started work on the site within 2 days of the testing being completed. Full traffic management and site safety was applied by us, whilst the push buttons and traffic islands were installed. The site was completed within budget. The client was able to add more equipment to the site during installation from the savings they had madeMagnetometer. Loops and Resurfacing
TotalSIgnals package has been used to enable a client to have MOVA and SCOOT detector positions included during a night resurfacing project. Using the full design and build option, TotalSignals designed SCOOT and MOVA detector positions, TR2500 specification and datasets, and a design drawing, then worked within the resurfacing contractors traffic management installing magnetometers and loops (for VA) quickly and effectively. The whole scheme was designed and installed within 2 weeks, including an as built drawing. The client saved over £8000 on traffic management costs and design fees.
Improving Method of Control
TotalSignals has been used to design a MOVA method f operation including traffic modelling for improving a junction, whilst adding pedestrian facilities. Whilst the TR2500 specification was being written by our design studio, TotalSignals construction crew improved traffic islands, and installed poles and chambers. The whole project took less than 5 weeks to complete from traffic model to commissioning. The MOVA validation was carried out two weeks later in request of the client. The client has saved approximately £24,000 by using the TotalSignals package.
Terminal 5 Heathrow
TotalSignals package is being used to enable an efficient design and build project within the ‘airside’ of T5 Heathrow Airport, London. Working together the design and build experts at TotalSignals have saved the clients costs and time, including security checks for one team instead of numerous. The scheme included, supply of traffic signal equipment, magnetometer installations, signal timing designs and testing.
